Australia is a big country and hard to fit all on the one map. From Tasmania to Queensland is approx. 4500km after using a ferry to cross onto the mainlaind. Driving to Queensland takes 6-8 days, check local maps and transport options including loading your car on a train, which will get as far as Cairns in the Far North. Any Port Douglas to Cairns Airport Shuttle will operate both ways and provide a welcome rest from the cross country driving and focus on map reading. Once returning to Tasmania, drive through Melbourne and collect more local maps and transport options. It is possible to go Hobart to Cairns without a car and any need for maps.
